Campbell further said in a paper published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition that they discovered that consuming a diet of lower calories with a higher amount of protein led to an improvement in sleep quality for middle-aged people. This sleep quality is better in comparison to those who shed the same amount of weight while consuming a normal quantity of protein.

The research examined 44 obese or overweight participants who consumed either a higher-protein or normal-protein diet for weight loss. People who participated, completed a survey to rate their sleep quality every month all through the research. The study’s results proved that those who consumed more protein at the time of reducing their weight reported a better sleep quality following three or four months of dietary interruption.
