Sometimes you may have washed and styled your hair extensively but yet your hair will look oily and greasy just a little while later. This is the only symptom of oily hair. Oily hair means that even though your scalp is in good condition and the shafts of your hair are protected from breaking, the glands of your hair secrete too much oil. This can happen for a variety of reasons including hormonal reasons, genetics or even due to the natural texture of your hair. Here are some ways to help take care of oily hair.

1. Shampoo:
Shampooing is quintessential in keeping your hair grease free and clean. There are many types of shampoos for many types of hair. The best shampoo for oily hair is a mild, pH balanced shampoo which is specially formulated for oily hair.

2. Hot Oil Treatment:
One of the best ways of taking care of your oily hair and removing excess oil is by massaging your scalp with hot oil and then rinsing off the oil. This treatment works by hydrating your hair at the roots and then rinsing off the hair oil while retaining the amount of oil necessary.

3. Aloe Vera:
Aloe vera gel is also one of the best natural remedies for taking care of oily hair. A tablespoon of lemon juice and a teaspoon of aloe vera gel mixed with a relatively mild shampoo will reduce the greasiness of your hair.

4. Use Conditioners Carefully:
Use conditioners only to the ends of your hair, in case they have dried out. They are not recommended for oily hair as they coat the hair. They provide moisture. This moisture only adds to oiliness and greasiness.

5. Avoid Over Brushing Hair:
Avoid brushing your hair too much. The oils from your scalp get distributed throughout your hair every time you run a brush.

6. Drink Lots Of Water:
Water is helpful in flushing out toxins from your body. Drink plenty of water to obtain a healthy scalp and hair. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a dermatologist and ask a free question.
