Stress is no less than an epidemic; it has spread, while affecting people across age groups. As the world takes giant leaps in technology, complexities increase as well. Stress and complexity are directly proportional to each other. More the complexity, more the stress sustained.

While stress has increased manifold, the conventional treatments for stress are medicine based and bring in a lot of harmful side effects. Ayurveda, on the other hand, is an ancient system of medicine that has treatments for stress which are holistic in nature and are natural, thus devoid of any side effect.

Ayurvedic system of medicine is an ancient Indian system of medicine that uses the inherent power of herbs to help diseases in a natural and healthy way. We in Ayurveda believe that the body is controlled by three different energies which are Vada, Pitta, and Kappha. These energies maintain the balance in our bodies and any imbalance in these energies may disorient the body system.

The Ayurvedic herbs help remove stress and anxiety from our daily lives in a natural and herbal way. They are completely safe and help in attaining an easy, stress free life.

According to Ayurveda, these are the remedies that you can use to treat stress:

  1. Say “AUM”: Meditation has been shown to reduce stress levels significantly. It improves focus and your overall wellbeing. If you have a tight schedule, include at least 10 minutes of meditation in your daily routine, it will work wonders for your stress.
  2. Say ‘Hi’ to Greens: Vegetables and fruits provide your body with essential Vitamins and minerals that provide nourishment to the cells of your body. A well-nourished body is less likely to be affected by stress, or any other medical condition, for that matter.
  3. Flex those Muscles: Regular exercise has been shown to improve your stress levels significantly. Exercises cause the release of endorphins, also known as the ‘feel good hormones’ in the body. These hormones make you happy and keep you better focused.
  4. Kick some butt!: Stay away from smoking; it only provides extremely temporary relief from stress and does much more harm than good, in all ways possible. Smoking narrows down the blood vessels, causing immense complications in the body and affecting pretty much every organ of the body. Although, a drink or two once a week can be beneficial for the body, binging on it can make your health go haywire.
