Infertility is defined as when a couple is not able to conceive despite having unprotected intercourse for over a year. Infertility may be present from birth or it may occur at some other time as well. Here are all the causes of infertility for both men and women…
1. Problems Producing Sperm:
These problems can occur due to various factors including diabetes, infections such as mumps, genetic defects as well as trauma or prior surgeries.
2. Problems Delivering Sperm:
The most common causes of this problem are retrograde ejaculation and premature ejaculation. However, blocking of the epididymis (the part of the reproductive system responsible for producing sperm), genetic defects as well as injuries may cause problems in the delivery of sperms.
3. Chemical Exposure:
Alcohol, marijuana, cigarette smoke and steroids, all may cause problems delivering and producing sperm. In fact, exposure to heat such as sauna baths, laptop radiations may cause problems as well.
1. Ovulation Disorders:
Hormonal disorders such as PCOS are the primary reasons for ovulation disorders. Eating disorders, injury and tumors may also cause ovulation disorders.
2. Damage to the Fallopian Tubes:
This usually occurs from a disease known as salpingitis which is an inflammation of the fallopian tubes.
Endometriosis is when the endometrial tissue grows outside the uterus. This can threaten fertility issues as well.
4. Early Menopause:
Even though the exact cause of early menopause is not known, exposure to radiation, chemotherapy and smoking are said to increase it.
5. Thyroid Problems:
Too much or too little thyroid secretion affects the menstrual cycle and may cause infertility.
