Many people suffer from defects in eyesight which make them opt for glasses and contact lenses. Though these options provide a long term solution to vision defects, it is always good to know things which might be gnawing away at your eye health, without you even realising.
Followings are the daily activities which should be taken care of as they badly affect your eyes-
1. Staring at the computer screen or cell phone for long hours:
Long hours of exposure to mobile phones and laptops lead to blurred vision, dry eyes, dizziness and even nausea.
2. Watching television late at night:
It is natural to enjoy watching favourite TV shows late at night after a tiring day. But behind this enjoyment lies one big monster that slowly destroys our eyesight.
3. Going outdoors without sunglasses:
Sunglasses are not only fashion accessories but the right kind of shades help protect your eyes to a great extent. UV rays from the sun badly affect your vision. Sun-glass acts as a barrier in between your eyes and the sun rays and hence, helps maintain your vision.
4. Sleeping with contact lens:
Contact lenses not only help enhance your vision, but are used for aesthetic purposes as well. Many a times, it so happens that you forget to take it off before sleeping. This deprives the cornea of oxygen, thus increasing the chances of infection. Hence, it is always advisable to take them off before you start snoring.
5. Overuse of eye makeup:
A good eye makeup does grab you attention. But, sometimes an overuse of makeup can cause eye allergies. It can block the oil glands of your eyes and thus cause infections.
