Migraine is a type of headache in which generally one side of the head hurts. These headaches tend to be pulsating or throbbing in nature. There may also be associated nausea and extreme sensitivity to light as well as sound. The intensity of a migraine attack may also vary – some attacks being very severe while others may be moderate. Homeopathic medicines can treat migraines very well. Homeopathic philosophy does not favor the use of temporary painkillers or short cuts for the treatment of migraine or for that matter any disease. Homeopathy tries to go deeper into the cause of the problem and completely eradicate the tendency of a patient to have these recurrent migraine headache episodes.
1. Belladonna -
Belladonna is one of the most common homeopathic medicines also used to treat migraines. The type of migraine belladonna is prescribed for is one where there is an intense pulsating, throbbing headache. Exposure to light, cold as well as noise often triggers the migraine attack. People who are prescribed belladonna will also feel an extreme fullness in their heads.
2. Glonoinum -
This medicine is used when there is excess congestion in the head. This type of migraine attack is probably the most severe. The migraine improves with sleep. However, it can get worse when you have to walk or are exposed to the heat.
3. Spigelia -
Spigelia is a very common homeopathic remedy for migraines. It is used when the left side of your head hurts. There can also be a severe pain in your eyeballs which gets worsened by moving your eyes too much. Finally, the pain is extremely pulsating and throbbing in nature, making this an extremely painful form of migraine.
4. Natrum Mur -
Natrum Mur is very commonly used for migraine that arises from any mental grief or stress. It is also good for anaemic headaches. Such headaches are often seen in young girls. There is temporary blindness with the headaches. The pain is as if there are thousands of small hammers beating inside the head. Paleness of the face accompanies the headache. The pain may be triggered by eyestrain.
These remedies mentioned are just examples to explain how Homeopathic medicines can help with detoxification. However, one should never self-medicate without consulting a qualified Homeopathic Physician.
