The common cold, as its name suggests, is perhaps the most common illness in the world today. However, there are a large number of remedies which help cure it as well. Common remedies used to treat the common cold include gargling in saltwater, taking rest and saline nasal sprays. None of the remedies are very complicated but none of them permanently cure the common cold. They can only relieve the symptoms.
Here are some of the most common remedies for a common cold…

2. Drink Water and Other Liquids
It is common to get dehydrated after you have had a common cold. One of the best ways to stay hydrated is to drink water, juice or other liquids which will quench your thirst. Do not consume caffeine, alcohol or other energy drinks as they tend to make you feel even more dehydrated.
3. Saltwater Gargling
You should also gargle with saltwater as this will help your sore throat. Relieving a sore throat is a crucial step in treating the common cold.
This is the most commonly prescribed medication used for a common cold and should be the only medicine administered to babies below six months of age.
5. Warm Liquids
Staying hydrated is very important but drinking warm water is even more important as this relieves your sore throat and therefore helps remedy your common cold.
