A smile makeover is the process of improving the appearance of the smile through one or more cosmetic dentistry procedures, such as dental veneers, composite bonding, tooth implants and teeth whitening.
Essentially, a smile makeover is something that you choose to have performed, while a full mouth reconstruction is something that you need to have performed.
A large number of factors are taken into consideration for a smile makeover. Some of them are your, skin tone, facial appearance, teeth (width, colour, length, tooth display and shape), gum tissue, hair colour and lips. Smile makeovers are usually done for cosmetic purposes and it is possible to customize it as per your specific needs. Some aspects of your smile that can be improved are:
- Alignment and Spacing: Crooked or misshaped teeth may be aligned with the help of orthodontic surgery or braces.
- Missing Teeth: They may be replaced by dental implants, partial dentures or bridges to avoid the higher risk of tooth decay and biting issues.
- Harmony and Balance: The problems regarding cracked, chipped or uneven teeth or a gummy smile may be changed to improve the total appearance of the teeth.
Aesthetic Constitutes of Smile Makeovers:
In addition to the components mentioned above, a cosmetic dentist would reevaluate the aesthetic region of the smile, that is, the teeth that are visible during smiling, to come up with an overall solution to benefit the smile. These features might include:
Smile Line: An apparent imaginary line that runs along the length of the upper teeth matching the lower teeth ideally. This is used as a benchmark in developing the smile.
Cosmetic surgeries require expensive and regular maintenance. Although with their multiple pros, they do have quite a few drawbacks which should be considered before opting for it.
Tooth Length and Texture: A dentist may shape the front teeth to make them shorter or lengthening them with porcelain veneers, as required. They may also modify the gum line to decrease the intensity of a gummy smile.
Dental Treatment are more safer if done at the hospitals only.
